The iron bridge over the Drina was built in 1929 and was very impressive. It is interesting how they tested strength of the bridge; the horse-drawn vehicles brought 30,000 tons of stone on the bridge. After 15 days when they found the bridge was strong and stable, the stone was removed and the bridge was ready to use. The bridge was and still is a recognizable symbol of Zvornik, and our people often call it just Old bridge (orig. Stari most). Jumping from the bridge is famous, and it is interesting that on this bridge Emir Kusturica shot his famous and awarded movie “When Father Was Away on Business” and that the boy Malik walked on it.
